I finally put my Dog Den 3 together after being intimidated by the assembly and having it sit in my garage for over a month (the cold weather here in Illinois finally convinced me). Geez, had I known that the basic concept was so easy, I would've done it much sooner! My only issue was the rivets, as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and used a regular "old-school" type pop rivet gun to do the job (I just had to get mad at it, and take an 800mg Motrin afterwards to keep the pain in my hands from being too unbearable the following day or two --I also need to break down and ask for help with the inside rivets due to the angle not being conducive to having Arthritis). Anyway, my two German Shorthaired Pointers LOVE their new heated doghouse!!! Even though they stay in an 11'x12' workshop attached to my garage with a doggie door to their 10' x 10' run while I'm at work, I still wanted that extra layer of protection by putting the Dog Den 3 inside the workshop for them. Last night was the first night I could actually sneak up on them when I got home from work, as they were both soaking up the heat in the doghouse.
So here's my question/suggestion: Do you sell a mat to put inside the dog den? If I put a regular dog bed in there, it'll end up looking like it snowed in the workshop while I was away for the day. If I put carpet or something similar in it, they'll have a blast chewing that up (hey, they get bored). I did find a thick rubber mud flap for a tractor trailer at my local Rural King store that works awesome for them, but it measured about 24" x 36" so I had to cut it to fit inside and then it still didn't cover the entire floor. It's about a half inch thick (m/l), and heavy enough that they can't pick it up to chew or try to drag out the door. It would be awesome if you had something like that to cover the metal floor of the Dog Den. My dogs and I thank you for an awesome product!
