NOTICE REGARDING BARRELS
Barrels and plywood decks not included.
K-9 Kondo has stopped selling barrels due to shipping costs. It is much cheaper for customers to source their own barrels locally. However, if you can't or don't wish to source your own barrel and are willing to pay shipping we can help. Just give us a call. Good quality used 55-gallon plastic barrels cans be routinely obtained from local car washes, cleaners or farm supply stores. Barrels with a minimum bottom diameter of 21 inches are required and can have a maximum diameter of up to 24 inches for the K-9 Kondo doghouse kit. Barrels smaller than 55 gallons or of steel construction will not work with the K-9 Kondo kit. A little bit of searching will save you a lot of money while still providing your dog with a comfortable, yet indestructible animal shelter.

Once it's put together it's great!

I'm glad I purchased the K9 Kondo, but I would warn future buyers. Expect some headaches in the construction phase. The contents list is less than descriptive and the instructions are literally, just enough to get it done. The construction of the individual pieces doesn't exactly make for easy construction. Expect to spend some time on it. BUT... once it's done you won't regret the time. It is a very solid product. I don't regret the purchase of this at all.

I've used the K-9 kondo barrel style doh houses for years. Nothing else comes close as far as durability, varsatility, and dog comfort in any weather condition.

After my lab destroyed 2 doghouses, I Googled "chew proof doghouse" and found this. 1 1/2 months later, no chew marks, still looks like the day I put it together. Great house, dog loves it, I have a 75 lb. Lab, and she fits in it just fine. Good quality materials and easy assembly, Thank You.

4 stars only because I have not had it into winter weather yet. Went together well, and seems to be a very good house for the dog. I see in a post below a mention of the slick inside, and think I will follow his lead and put some grip tape on the inside surface to keep the grass hay from sliding and improve footing.
Would recommend to anyone with even the smallest mechanical aptitude to buy and put together. Took me an hour to assemble.

dog den 2 and K9 kondo

The barrels are very slippery even with the marsh hay inside. The dogs can't get a footing so they are very reluctant to enter the kennels. I purchased some none skid treads, the type you would use in a shower and that improved their traction. Otherwise the k9 kondo and the dog den 2 Are very well designed products.
One question that I have is were is the ventilation in the dog den 2? There aren't any holes and the lid is sealed on with a gasket.
