I have had 3 of these installed on dog houses for about 20 years and now through an eight-inch thick wall for an enclosed porch. On the latest, the Kennel Door is installed on the exterior with a carpet flap on the interior. They work great! Dogs may need some training, and installation may need some tuning, there is nothing out there as good as these! The door bushings do need attention/occasional replacement. Maybe the bushings could be made of some tougher material such as brass or sorbothane? My environment is north WY and big dogs.

Chew-proof heavy duty door

This heavy-duty door was easy to install in both the Dog Den II as well as in the door of several permanent buildings. It swings quietly and the dogs were able to learn to use it quickly. We have several heavy-duty chewers at the kennel, but they have not managed to harm it in any way. There is a handy heavy-duty pin that allows for keeping the door open in warmer weather.

Replaced two doors that were 20+yrs old and ordered a third for a new kennel.
I'm in my 60s so these will be the last doors I have to replace.
